Telangana CM distributes KCR Kits in Hyderabad

HYDERABAD: Telangana government’s much awaited ‘KCR Kits’ scheme was launched by Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, on Saturday at Modern Government Maternity Hospital, Petlaburj, Hyderabad on Saturday.


The aim is to take care of the health of new mothers, newborns, and to enroll more women to undergo delivery at government hospitals. Under it, every pregnant woman, who undergoes tests, delivery and immunisation at government hospitals, will be given `1,2000 (additional `1,000, if newborn is a girl), and a kit which has baby products worth `2,000. On Saturday, KCR handed over the kits to six women at the maternity hospital, who recently delivered. 


The cash will be given in four instalments. For registration, bank account along with Indian Financial System Code (IFSC), Aadhar card copy, mobile number and Mother Child Protection (MCP) card are needed.


New block to be built in hosp
Shortage of beds at Modern Government Maternity Hospital, Petlaburj, was noted by the CM and he vowed to build a new hospital block.


Before launching the scheme, KCR spoke to doctors, junior doctors, patients and attendants present and enquired about facilities. “As number of patients is increasing, a new block would be built,” the CM said.
