HYDERABAD: To improve educational standards in government schools, the state government would introduce English medium in 5,000 government schools from the coming academic year, deputy chief minister (Education), Kadiyam Srihari said.

Presently, English medium is being provided in about 5,000 government schools. Answering to a question raised by R Krishnaiah (TDP) , Srihari, on the suggestion of the members said that anganwadi centres would be utilised for kindergarten, play school and nursery which will be synchronised with nearby government primary schools for their admission.

Students studying in government and residential junior colleges were identified subject wise and special coaching classes were conducted to improve their results in NEET, EAMCET and other exams.
