HYDERABAD: TDP TS unit working president A Revanth Reddy’s sudden visit to the national capital Delhi on Monday has created ripples among political circles, as Reddy has been feeling insecure in the yellow party ever since the proposal to forge an electoral pact between the TDP and the ruling TRS in the State was formulated.

As Revanth has already been in touch with some of the senior Congress leaders including his relative and ex-Union minister S Jaipal Reddy, his sudden visit to Delhi fueled speculation on his possible jump into the Congress. At one point of time, rumours were rife that Reddy was in Delhi only to meet AICC vice president Rahul Gandhi in order to formally fix a date for his entry into Congress. Meanwhile, when Express contacted, Revanth disclosed that he was in Delhi as he had an urgent work relating to a court case.

Revealing that he is being lured by Congress, he said, “For now, I am in the TDP. My party supremo N Chandrababu Naidu assured me that no decision will be taken against my wishes with regard to forging alliances in Telangana in 2019 polls. But, some of our party seniors are exerting pressure on Naidu to join hands with the TRS.”Revanth made it clear that he had kept his options open and would take a “decision” with regard to his political future, depending on future political developments.
