HYDERABAD: Former minister and senior Congress leader DK Aruna described TJAC chief M Kodandaram “as a plant in the courtyard” of CM K Chandrasekhar Rao. “KCR peratlo mokka Kodandaram. If he really wants to defeat the TRS, he should join hands with Congress instead of considering the idea of contesting the polls alone,” she said, while interacting with reporters on Monday.
She also wanted to know from Kodandaram how could he achieve his target of unseating the CM in the next Assembly polls, as his decision to contest the polls alone would be helpful to the ruling party in one way or other.
Hence, the Congress leader advised Kodandaram to strengthen the Congress by siding with it.Thus, within a week after Kodandaram floated his party, and announced that his party would contest the ensuing polls on its own, the main opposition seems to have started resorting to “mind games” with the Political Science professor, by almost dubbing him as a close aide of KCR. This is being seen by many as an effort to make TJS align with Congress.
Further, Aruna announced that she would undertake a padayatra from Alampur to Adilabad after June 8, to expose the failures of State government. The Congress leader, who is opposing the entry of former minister Nagam Janardhan Reddy into the grand old party, said she was not aware of Reddy joining the Congress.
Kodandaram sets up Social Media Army:
Kodandaram has started forming a “Social Media Army” with 5,000 youngsters to expose the failures and unfulfilled promises of the State government on social media. “The army is being set up with enthusiastic youngsters, who are ready to reveal the truth behind the State government’s flagship programmes. A campaign will be taken up on social media explaining how TRS is wasting public money,” TJS leader P Srisai Reddy said. Kodandaram will hold a day-long workshop on April 15 to train the social media ‘activists’ on how to utilise social media effectively
