High Court seeks report on undertrials by Tuesday

HYDERABAD: A division bench of High Court on Friday granted time till Tuesday to TS government to submit details of the undertrials languishing in various prisons of the state in spite of the grant of bail by the trial courts.

When the PIL came up for hearing before the bench, government counsel for home department K Srikanth Reddy told the court that he had received details of the undertrial prisoners from the director-general of prisons, and sought some time to furnish the same in the form of an affidavit before the court.

Considering the plea of the government counsel, the bench posted the matter to Tuesday.
