HYDERABAD: Daughter of well-known Tollywood character artist Annapurna, reportedly committed suicide on Saturday. As per information from the police, Annapurna’s daughter Keerthi, aged 22, committed suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling of her mother’s residence in Godavari apartments in Srinagar Colony, due to being depressed over her poor health condition.
Banjara Hills Sub Inspector K Uday said that they received an information from family members stating that Keerthi, who was suffering from ill health for the past few years, took the drastic step.
Keerthi, adopted daughter of Annapurna, was married around 4-5 years ago to Venkata Sai Krishna, an FCI employee working in Karnataka and they had a child. The family was living in Karnataka.
“Keerthi was depressed over her health condition. Her mother Annapurna and husband Venkata Sai Krishna spent a good amount of money over her treatment. However, there were no signs of recovery. She had come to the city a few days ago,’’ Uday said.
Police visited the residence and recovered Keerthi’s body. After conducting a post-mortem examination, the body was handed over to family members. Police registered a case under section 174 CrPC (suspicious death) and recovered her mobile phone for further investigation.
