HYDERABAD: Raising eyebrows within the party, the leadership of the state Congress on Thursday revoked the suspension imposed on former MP Siricilla Rajaiah. Rajaiah had been suspended from the party following allegations that he had abetted the suicide of his daughter-in-law and three of his grandsons who had died in a suicidal fire accident in his home.

The Congress, which is leaving no stone unturned to achieve its target of winning the 2019 polls, has begun revoking suspension imposed on some of its “errant” leaders in order to make the party strong at the grass roots level.

As part of this, on Thursday, the TPCC leadership withdrew the suspension on six of its ‘deviant’ leaders. TPCC chief N Uttam Kumar Reddy directed party disciplinary action committee chairman M Kodanda Reddy to take necessary steps in this regard.

Sircilla Rajaiah had represented Warangal in the Lok Sabha from 2009 to 2014. Rajaiah, his wife and son Anil Kumar were arrested earlier for allegedly abetting the suicide of his daughter-in-law and three young grandsons.
