HYDERABAD: Three passengers, including a newly wed couple, were robbed by a gang of at least 15 members suspected to be part of notorious Parthi gang on a moving Venkatadri Express train on Thursday.
The miscreants allegedly tampered signal system of the train and committed offence while the train was moving at Gutti, AP.

The passengers, who arrived at Kachiguda station, lodged a complaint with government railway police. Based on complaint, the GRP officials have registered three robbery cases and would transfer it to Gutti police as the offence took place there. Kachiguda railway inspector Vijay Lala said the offence took place in coaches S10 and S11 of the train. The victims were returning after visiting Tirupati temple.

The couple lost a 4 tola gold chain that the woman was wearing. The miscreants also snatched chains from two women sitting by the window side. “We suspect the gang might have indulged in signal tampering near Gutti. As red light blinked, the train was moving slowly and it halted for few minutes. The miscreants committed the offence then,” Lala said.
