Telangana's Sircilla Textile Park gets boost amid COVID-19

RAJANNA-SIRCILLA: The State government has been supporting all power loom weavers since the Covid-19 crisis began, said MAUD Minister KT Rama Rao. He inaugurated development works worth Rs 14.50 crore at the Textile Park at Baddenapalli on Monday.

He said Kakatiya Textile Park in Warangal and Sircilla Textile Park were India’s biggest textile parks and the government had placed orders for Bathukamma sarees and Rajiv Vidya Mission cloths to support the weavers.

He said the government was taking many initiatives and creating special welfare schemes for the weavers.Textile park had all facilities and training centres had been set up for women, he said and asked Textile companies to initiate welfare schemes for workers.

Later, the Minister distributed groceries to weavers at Markandeya Bhavan at Thagallapalli. Director of Handlooms and Textiles Shailaja Ramaiyer, Collector D Krishna Bhaskar, Handlooms and Textiles AD V Ashok Rao, TSCAP Chairman K Ravinder Rao and other officials were present.
