Five years of Telangana government’s prestigious scheme Rythu Bandhu

At present, the government is giving Rs 10,000 per acre towards input costs. So far, the State government disbursed Rs 65,500 crore in 10 instalments to around 70 lakh farmers.

HYDERABAD: Rythu Bandhu, the State government’s prestigious scheme, completed five years on Wednesday. The State government launched Rythu Bandhu in 2018. At present, the government is giving Rs 10,000 per acre towards input costs. So far, the State government disbursed Rs 65,500 crore in 10 instalments to around 70 lakh farmers.

After the BRS government implemented the Rythu Bandhu, the Central government and several other States too implemented the same, State Rythu Bandhu Samithi president and MLC Palla Rajeshwar Reddy said.

He recalled that Telangana was No 2 in the country in cotton production and stood in first place in production of chillies. Telangana is the only State in the country which was purchasing the entire paddy produced in the state by opening 7,000 purchasing centres across the state, he said, adding that UNO too praised the Rythu Bandhu scheme.
