HYDERABAD: Three Telangana districts stood among the top five in the country in the Swachh Survekshan 2023 rankings. Jagtial, Peddapalli, and Siddipet took third, fourth and fifth places respectively behind Wayanad (Kerala) and Mangan (Sikkim)  in that order.

“We are extremely delighted and proud to share that three out of top five districts are from Telangana in Swachh Survekshan 2023 rankings, announced by the Central government. Despite the discrimination, Centre has no choice but to recognise exemplary governance of Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, which is reflected on ground and visible to everyone,” Minister for Health and Finance T Harish Rao tweeted.

Telangana villages are role models in many aspects such as door-to-door garbage collection, management of dump yards, cleanliness, greenery, sanitation management, etc. “Five districts in Telangana have been selected in five star category. These awards are a shining example of initiatives like Palle Pragathi,” he added.
