HYDERABAD: In a major step forward in resolving land disputes, the first land registration using a survey map was carried out in Gattu Singaram village in Kusumanchi mandal in Khammam district on Tuesday. Survey (LPM) and Bhudhaar numbers have been assigned to the land. This is the first-ever registration completed with a survey map.

A farmer, Bhagam Kishan Rao, from Muthapuram village, Nelakondapalli mandal, sold one acre and four guntas of land located in Survey No. 156/E/1 of Gattu Singaram revenue village in Kusumanchi mandal to Katta Venkateswara Rao of the same village. During the transaction, the farmer attached a boundary map of his land and completed registration at the Kusumanchi tahsildar office. A Bhudhaar number (Land Encumbrance Map-1, Bhudhaar Number: 795GCHDCUPJ7H0) was assigned by the tahsildar. The government stated that this system will be implemented across the state in phases to permanently resolve land disputes.

Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy said that the Integrated Bhu Bharati Portal would serve as a model for the entire country and ensure permanent security for land ownership rights.

Bhu Bharati Act mandates survey maps

Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy said that a farmer’s life was deeply connected with land, and only when land ownership is clearly defined does a farmer’s life become secure.

He said that when such rights were permanently established through survey maps and Bhudhaar numbers, farmers gain confidence, families receive assurance, and trust in the future would be strengthened.

The Revenue minister said that the state government was taking steps to strengthen the revenue system and provide permanent solutions to land-related problems.

As part of this initiative, an Integrated Bhu Bharati Portal, bringing together land, survey and registration departments under one platform, was launched on a pilot basis on April 2 in Kosgi of Narayanpet district, Kusumanchi of Khammam district, Aswaraopeta of Bhadradri Kothagudem district, Amangal of Rangareddy district, and Vatpally of Sangareddy district.

The minister said that the Bhu Bharati Act mandates that a survey map is compulsory during registration.

Provision has also been made for individuals to voluntarily apply for and verify their land through a survey certificate. Accordingly, the requirement of a survey map for registration is being implemented in these five mandals, the minister said.

Srinivasa Reddy claimed that through the Bhu Bharati Act, the Congress government has brought complete transparency in land administration.

By assigning precise survey maps and unique Bhudhaar numbers to every land parcel, ambiguities regarding ownership were being eliminated, he said.

These services were being made easily accessible to the public through the Bhu Bharati portal, he said.

He also claimed that outdated survey methods were replaced with modern rover technology to ensure accurate land surveys.
