HYDERABAD: Dismissing TPCC chief B Mahesh Kumar Goud’s occult ritual claims as “false, unsubstantiated and misleading” claims, BRS leader T Harish Rao on Tuesday sent a legal notice to the former.
The former minister’s legal team, in its legal notice, said that “the publication of such statements constitutes harm to my client’s reputation and constitutes defamation which includes the communication of a false statement that injures the reputation of an individual or entity”.
“Retract the defamatory statements made by you during the press conference. Delete all defamatory material from websites, social media, press archives, and any other digital or print platforms where it has been published or referenced.
Publish a corrected and clarified statement to address the falsehoods and restore accurate information in the public record, which shall include an unconditional apology to my client. Failing which my client shall be constrained to invoke Civil and Criminal remedies against your reckless action, for which costs and consequences, you alone shall be solely responsible,” the notice said.
Meanwhile, BRS general secretary RS Praveen Kumar sought to know if AICC leader Rahul Gandhi indulged in such activities when he went to a secret location in the past.
“Rahul Gandhi went to a secret location for 52 days. Where did he go? Did he go there to perform occult rituals?” he asked.
