Justice Namavrapu Rajeshwar Rao of the Telangana High Court on Tuesday dismissed two election petitions challenging the election of BRS working president and Sircilla MLA KT Rama Rao in the 2023 Assembly elections.

The petitions, filed by advocate Kondam Karuna Mahender Reddy and Lagishetti Srinivas, alleged that Rama Rao had suppressed material facts in his election affidavit by not disclosing details relating to his son K Himanshu Rao’s land purchases.

They contended that the omission amounted to a corrupt practice under the Representation of the People Act, 1951. Rejecting both petitions, the court upheld Rama Rao’s election.
