Rs 13.5 cr released for 10k houses in K-plant vicinity

TIRUNELVELI : Of the Rs 75 crore sanctioned for the  second phase of the Kudankulam Nuclear Plant Neighbourhood Programme, Rs 13.5 crore has been released and steps are being taken to release the remaining amount, according to Collector M Karunakaran, Karunakaran said that the government permitted construction of 10,000 houses, each at an estimated cost of R3 lakh for homeless in the coastal areas.


The plan was to construct around 5,000 houses in the first phase, with 3,385 houses in the ten panchayats in Radhapuram Panchayat Union ana 1615 houses in three panchayats in the Vallioor Panchayat Union.
