Going by what the makers of the upcoming psychological-emotional thriller Vinodhan, Tamil cinema will witness its first ever palindrome song, written by Madhan Karky and composed by D Imman.
Sung by Haricharan Seshadri and Shashaa Tirupati, this romantic number begins with Megharagame (a palindrome itself in Tamil). The song will be released today on Doo Paa Doo, an online portal, without piracy affecting the business.
Directed by Victor Jayaraj, Vinodhan is a story of a man with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), and how it affects his relationships. The film goes by the tagline ‘Someone Who’s Weird’.
Victor tells us, “One of the common OCD traits is being curious about symmetry. When the friendship between the protagonists blossoms into love, he tells her that he finds her face ‘symmetrical’.” The idea was Karky’s and the director says it has come out well. “We discussed with Imman and Prabhu Deva; they were equally thrilled with the idea.”
While Varun Kamal plays the lead, Vedhika is the heroine. From a school girl to a 60-year-old, her character in the film has many shades to it. Comedian Jagan, Evam Karthik Kumar, VTV Ganesh, Rohini and Mouli play pivotal roles in the film. Vinodhan is bankrolled by Prabhu
Deva Studios.
