L ast week, CE spoke to AM Rathnam, who’s bankrolling this Vijay Sethupathi-starrer Karuppan (tentatively titled).
He had said the team was in talks with Lakshmi Menon to rope in her as the leading lady. But, he didn’t confirm that piece of information.
However, the latest we hear is that, she has been replaced by yesteryear actor Ravichandran’s granddaughter Tanya, who was seen in the Sasikumar-starrer Bale Vellaiya Theva (2016).
According to the sources, the shoot related work is on in full swing around Dindigul and Theni. Set in a rural backdrop, Karuppan is directed by Panneerselvam of Renigunta (2009) fame, and has music by Imman.
Unconfirmed reports suggest that Bobby Simha has been roped into play the antagonist. Currently, Tanya has a film with Mysskin and Radha Mohan (of Mozhi (2007) fame) in her kitty.
