HYDERABAD: Telangana culture and Kakatiya heritage with the use of vastu will be reflected  in  the architecture of Telangana State Secretariat’s new building.
According to preliminary approvals, one single block would come up with five lakh sqft office space. The new building will be designed and constructed as per the beliefs of Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao in vastu and numerology. According to official sources, the new building will be east-facing. The building will be designed in a “dome” shape, which reflects Telangana culture and Kakatiya dynasty.
“Each floor will have 80,000 sqft space. So, around six floors will come up in a single block,” sources said. The six-storeyed building is as per KCR’s lucky number: “six”.

Before finalising the designs prepared by the noted architect Hafeez Contractor, officials will place the design and plans before the Telangana State government’s architect and vastu expert Suddala Sudhkar Teja. He will suggest the changes. Of the around 22 acres of land available currently for the Secretariat, the new single building will come up in around two acres of land and look like Karnataka’s Vidhan Soudha.

The proposed single block of the building will have one main entrance like Karnataka’s Vidhan Soudha. “We have 18 ministers. The respective secretary’s offices will be next to the minister’s chamber. Each department will have conference hall, and lunch room,” an official of the roads and buildings department said.
Officials said the Chief Minister’s Office will have video-conference facility and meeting hall. “There is no big conference hall in the existing Secretariat to have Collectors’ conference. The Collectors’ conferences are held in Jubilee Hall or MCR HRD out side Secretariat. Now, the CMO office block will have a sprawling hall even for conducting District Collectors’ conference,” sources said.  Each room will have a corridor and each room will have windows. Of the two 22 acres, two acres will be meant for the Secretariat building. In the remaining space, a huge parking complex is being planned.
