Techie dies after being hit by train in California

A software engineer from Karimnagar, who was residing in Ohio city in US, was killed after hit by a Valley Transportation Authority (VTA) light train in California.

KARIMNAGAR: A software engineer from Karimnagar, who was residing in Ohio city in US, was killed after hit by a Valley Transportation Authority (VTA) light train in California.

The techie met with the accident on December 14, at 5.30 pm (Indian Standard Time) and his friends got the news only on Sunday. The techie, Krishna Eravelli (43), used to stay at Bank Colony in Karimnagar Town before leaving to US. Krishna’s friend, Krishna Gopal, quoting the local news reports, said that the engineer was hit by an Alum Rock-bound train while he was crossing the track in California.

About 10 years back, Krishna went to the US to work as a programmer in a bank. On the day of the accident, Krishna was on his way to San Jose for duty when he was hit by the VTA light train. He is survived by his wife and two children.

Their relative living in Hyderabad initiated to bring his body here. Vikram Rao Yerrabelli, another friend and cousin who was in US on behalf of his wife Poornima, is raising memorial fund online through www.gofundme.com to meet the travel expenses of his wife and two young daughters to India.
