KOZHIKODE: The measured silence of the Indian Union Muslim League top leadership in the T P Chandrasekharan murder case has raised many eyebrows among political circles in the state. Though rivals, IUML’s top leaders, especially Industries Minister P K Kunhalikutty, have not gone beyond expressing condolence messages.

However, IUML leaders, when contacted, denied the allegations and said that the party is actively organising campaigns against murder politics, but they are hardly getting the attention of the media. IUML secretary M C Mayin Haji has accused the media of sidelining party leaders in discussions and ignoring programmes against the murderous politics of the CPI(M). Haji added, “There is no such compromise between IUML and the CPI(M) and the allegation is baseless. The IUML has strongly condemned the murderous politics pursued by the CPI(M).”

“The party strongly opposes political killings and condemn the attempt of Pinarayi Vijayan to import Stalinism to the state,” IUML leader Panakkad Syed Sadiq Ali Shihab Thangal said.
