Indian art is probably going through its best phase. In the past week, we saw Christie’s host a preview of the works of Indian artists that will be showcased in New York, and this Wednesday Sotheby’s hosted a cocktail reception featuring highlights from the forthcoming inaugural India Week in London in October 2014.

Tyeb Mehta’s Blue Painting will lead Sotheby’s India Week and was shown at the preview for the first time since 1997.

Spotted at the preview hosted by Edward Gibbs, Chairman, India and Middle East, and industrialist Amit Burman at The Oberoi Hotel were artist Mehta’s wife Sakina Mehta, Shivinder Singh, Priya Paul with hubby, Sethu, Divya Burman, Nisha Jamwal among others.
