Designer duo of Didier Lecoanet and Hemant Sagar became famous as the haute couture label, Lecoanet Hemant, in Paris years ago. The duo then moved to India and set up their atelier in Delhi to cater to the world market and make a mark in the Indian market too.

This week Leconet Hemant launched their affordable pret line, Genes. The first collection is targetted at ‘New India’ and is inspired by the country’s contemporary accomplishments, technological revolution and the evolution of society. The fall-winter 2015 is aptly named, Here and Now.

The launch of Genes by Leconet Hemant is also coupled by their plan to take on online retail. The label is only available on their website, www.genestribe.com, and Amazon.in.
