Delhi has been the city of hardworking people from medieval times. People came here to earn fortune and in the last century a large number of refugees came from Pakistan and added to the city’s prosperity. Around the turn of the century, migrants from eastern states added to the Capital’s work force.
Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal first created a social movement and then later unleashed a political campaign against corruption by the Congress government. He conned both the media and the people into believing that he could clean the Augean’s stable.

ut the government claims success in transport sector on account of the odd-even and car-free day schemes. A resident would be happier getting water supply even if he has to pay for it. But now the city goes dry for three days altogether.
While he has failed to act against the alleged corruption charges of the Sheila Dikshit government, he has also been unsuccessful in correcting this trend in his government. Half of his original team has been evicted on charges of corruption.
However, what worries me more is Kejriwal’s vision of governing Delhi. The AAP government’s focus is towards political accommodation, as evidenced in its acts of appointment parliamentary secretaries and handing over subsidies from the tax payers’ money to secure votes of those defaulting on payments of water and power bills.
Delhi needs development to maintain its character of a trade and business centre, however, it’s infrastructure is now bursting.
