From our online archive

TIRUVANANTHAPURAM : Prathidhwani, the socio-cultural and welfare organisation of IT employees of Technopark, is felicitating ‘ex-techies’ who have made it big in cinema. Rahul Riji Nair, director of the state award-winning ‘Ottamurivelicham’ and others with an IT background who were behind the making of this film, will be felicitated at a function on Wednesday at Technopark.

A large number of the people behind this movie, it appears, are Prathidhwani members and also past  winners of Qisa, the film festival organised by the Prathidhwani Film Club. For instance, in 2015, it was ‘Rs 2,’ a short film by Rahul Riji Nair, that won second pize at this festival. Appu Bhattathiri, who won the state award this year for editing, was the 2015 winner in the Qisa film festival. ‘’This is a proud moment for Prathidhwani and the Prathidhwani Film Club.

Director Harikumar and film critic M F Thomas will participate in Wednesday’s programme. ‘Athishayangalude Venal,’ the award-winning  movie by Prasanth Vijay will be screened on the occasion. Prasanth is another techie who left his job to pursue cinematic dreams.
