Trawler nets cause unprecedented loss of 1000 turtles along Tamil Nadu coastline

Over 50 Olive Ridley turtles' carcasses washed up ashore in Tamil Nadu on January 24. Trawler nets are cited to be the reason for nearly 1000 turtle deaths on the Chennai and Chengalpattu coasts.
