Allahabad HC Judge Justice Yashwant Varma Resigns Amid Impeachment Proceedings

Allahabad High Court judge Justice Yashwant Varma, who was facing impeachment proceedings, has resigned from his post. His resignation has been sent to the President, where he stated that “it is with deep anguish” that he is stepping down. Justice Varma was earlier transferred from the Delhi HC after burnt currency notes were found at his residence last year. Reacting to the development, former Allahabad High Court Bar President Anil Tiwari said the resignation was “delayed”
