Opposition leaders strongly objected to the Delimitation Bill tabled in the Parliament in a special session. They called the bill anti-democratic, unconstitutional for fundamentally altering the federal structure in the name of women's reservation. Union ministers Arjun Ram Meghwal and Amit Shah introduced three bills in the Lok Sabha to amend the women’s quota law and set up a delimitation commission on April 16.
