VIJAYAWADA: The last day of the auspicious Kaarthika masam took a tragic turn with seven people drowning at four different places in the state on Sunday.
While three, including a woman, were washed away by waves in Ramapuram beach in Chirala of Prakasam district, two devotees met their watery grave at Buckingham canal in Tadepalli of Guntur distric, a 12-year-old is feared drowned in Polavaram Right Canal at Mangalapuram village of Vijayawada rural and a polytechnic student drowned in Hamsaladeevi beach near Machilipatnam.
