VIJAYAWADA: The State government is all set to christen another scheme in the name of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu. It is ‘Chandranna Pellikanuka’, a scheme to provide `30,000 to girls fom Backward Classes and SCs at the time of wedding. The amount is likely to be hiked by `5,000 in the near future.
The State Cabinet met under the chairmanship of the Chief Minister at the Interim Government Complex in Velagapudi on Tuesday took a decision to this effect. The State government is already extending `50,000 for the marriage of Muslim girls in the name of Dulhan and another scheme for tribal girls.
Earlier, the State government had named the insurance scheme to unorganised sector workers as ‘Chandranna Bima’ and the gift packs being handed over to Hindus, Muslims and Christians as ‘Chandranna Sankranthi Kanuka’, ‘Chandranna Ramzan Tofa’ and ‘Chandranna Christmas gift.
Under the Chandranna Pellikanuka, the State government will extend financial benefit to one lakh families a year.
While, `50,000 will be given to the bride’s family under Dulhan and `40,000 to Tribal families under Giri Puthrika Kalyana Pathakam, it will be `30,000 to BCs and STs which might be hiked by `5,000 later.While, 20 per cent of the total amount will be given to the family members of the bride before marriage, the remaining 80 per cent will be deposited in the bank account of the bride immediately after the marriage.
Virtual Classrooms
With an intention to provide quality education to students, the govt decided to set up cloud-based virtual classrooms in select govt and municipal high schools
It will spend H160 crore for arranging virtual class rooms in 4,000 high schools
Under first phase, virtual classrooms will be set up in all the select high schools by the end of this year and in all the remaining schools in the later phase
AP Migrants Welfare Policy
The Cabient approved the AP Migrants Welfare Development Policy earmarking a fund of H40 crore; It will benefit 25 lakh AP Non Resident Telugus (APNRTs).
The government will set up a helpline for resolving the issues pertaining to APNRTs
Other decisions
Approvals of Service Delivery Guarantee Draft, to fix responsibility of officials in giving permissions to industries. In case of delay, concerned officials have to give explanation for the delay and should also have to pay penalties if there was no genuine reasons for the delay
Will conduct district-wise analysis over the spread of seasonal diseases
