VIJAYAWADA: Director of the Department of Language and Culture D Vizai Bhaskar has said that the state government is rolling out several self-employment schemes for women artisans to help them stand on their own feet.

Speaking after inaugurating a three-day leather art and crafts training workshop at the Cultural Centre of Vijayawada and Amaravati (CCVA) on Tuesday, Vizai Bhaskar said various skill training and development programmes are available for women to learn and hone their skills.

“The workshop will help unemployed women create their own opportunities,” he said, ading that the products made by the participants during the workshop will be put on display on the last day of the programme.
