A drunken villager stabbed two policemen to death in China when they tried to stop him from disturbing other people.

The incident took place Monday in Yiliang county in the southwest province of Yunnan, the Shanghai Daily reported Tuesday.

The drunken man was arrested after children on their way to school found the bodies of the two police officers.

Villagers said one officer was stabbed in the abdomen and the other in the chest. They died without getting help as the whole village was still fast asleep.

They said Li was an alcoholic and often goes crazy after drinking. He recently broke into his brother's house with a knife.
