A young Indian lady doctor mesmerized with LAUGHTER YOGA a 1000+ TEDx high profile audience at the historic city of Delft in the Netherlands: the first ever of this kind at a TED event. This is certainly a big glory of yoga with academics and politicians in that part of the world joining in the prestigious mass event with Dr. Nupur Kohli.

TED (Technology, Entertainment, Design) is a global set of conferences originated in the United States and operates under the slogan "Ideas Worth Spreading".

21st June as International Yoga Day was in December 2014 declared by the United Nations General Assembly. The declaration of this day came after the call for the adoption of 21 June as International Day of Yoga by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his address to UN General Assembly on September 27, 2014.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said:” "Yoga is an invaluable gift of India's ancient tradition. It embodies unity of mind and body; thought and action; restraint and fulfilment; harmony between man and nature; a holistic approach to health and well-being. It is not about exercise but to discover the sense of oneness within yourself, the world and the nature. By changing our lifestyle and creating consciousness, it can help us deal with climate change. Let us work towards adopting an International Yoga Day."

This initiative found support from many world leaders. More than 177 countries have supported this move, including 175 nations co-sponsoring the resolution.

With yoga as an Indian physical, mental, and spiritual practice or discipline, laughter yoga (Hasyayoga) is a practice involving prolonged voluntary laughter. Laughter yoga is based on the belief that voluntary laughter provides the same physiological and psychological benefits as spontaneous laughter.

With her Laughter Yoga performance at a TEDx platform, Dr. Nupur Kohli brings yoga globally to young and old, to academics, politicians and other leaders, celebrating the vastness and strength of this precious Indian heritage.
