BERLIN: An Indian Food Festival organised at the Embassy of India here on Sunday saw enthusiastic participation by members of the Indian diaspora and Indian Community Associations, and strengthened the connect between Berliners and friends of India.

More than 3,000 people enjoyed a variety of cuisine from different regions of India, from the slow-cooked and richly spiced biryani to the savoury and tangy street food from states such as Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Nagaland, Manipur and Assam.

The visitors enjoyed the cultural performances at the festival which featured Indian classical and contemporary music and dance and yoga by artists as well as by the members of the Indian diaspora.

This was the second edition of the India Food Festival. The first festival was held in October 2017.

The festival is an initiative to bring together not only Germans but also members of the local Indian Community, and friends of India in a celebration of the richness and diversity of Indian culinary and cultural experience.

The occasion also saw the inauguration of the Photography Exhibition on "India @70: Monuments, Nature and Wildlife of India" by Ambassador Mukta Dutta Tomar.
