A newly-constructed block to house a signal and telecommunication laboratory and an e-learning centre at the Indian Railways Institute of Signal Engineering and Telecommunication (IRISET) here was inaugurated by Railway Board member (electrical) Kul Bhushan on Thursday.
The two-storeyed block, built at a cost of Rs 4.70 crore, will house factory acceptance testing facility for electronic inter-locking, multi-section digital axle counter, train protection warning system, train collision avoidance System, LED signals, e-learning centre with 100 work stations, a conference room with 100 seats.
Earlier, Kul Bhushan inspected the Secunderabad railway station and also held a performance review meeting with SCR general manager PK Srivastava and other senior officials at Rail Nilayam.
