Scintillating stunt sequences, which Chiranjeevi Sarja had to take a lot of risk to picturise, have given the actor reason to believe that his latest film ‘Gandedhe’ will be a huge success at the box office.

Sarja, who made his debut in Sandalwood with ‘Vaayuputhra’, recalled that stunt master Different Johnny made him jump from a height of 80 feet while shooting a sequence at a college in Bangalore.

“I became nervous after reaching the top of the building. I hesitated to jump but Johnny helped me do it. There were 2,000 college students on the ground looking at me with curiosity. Johnny told me that the students will get a wrong notion if I opt for a duplicate,” Sarja said.

The actor said that he was saddened when a junior artiste was injured during a stunt sequence.

“I sympathised with the junior artiste who had to shoot that sequence three to four times as the director was not happy with the outcome,” he said.

Sarja urged the audience to watch ‘Gandedhe’.

“The film has all the ingredients to keep the audience happy. Not only are the stunt sequences good, but the songs are also added value for this film,” he said. The film is about two college students who initially hate each other but later fall in love.

“Youth, especially college students, will like this film,” he said. Ragini Dwivedi is the heroine, while Devaraj, Rangayana Raghu, Ramesh Bhat, and Chitra Shenoy play important character roles.

‘Gandedhe’ is the second film for Suryanarayan, who plays the villain. The actor made his debut in Kannada films with Veera Madhakari. “I was very happy when director Shiva Akula selected me to play the villain. He later told me that another artiste was selected to play that role. However, producer Ramu called me to his office a few days ago and asked me to play the villain. He also offered my remuneration in advance,” he said.
