HYDERABAD: Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Indore, said on Sunday that the  exact date of announcing results of Common Admission Test (CAT), 2014 would be made on Tuesday. IIM, Indore, had conducted the exam.

Rohit Kapoor, convener of CAT 2014, told Express over phone, “The exact date of results will be put on the official website of CAT on Dec 23. We are making efforts to release the results within a week’s time.

He made it clear that they would stick to the schedule.  This announcement brought relief for those, who were in a dilemma over making a choice between campus placements and  admissions into IIMs.  ‘’Now I can take a clear stand on the placements as I am pretty confident of clearing the test,” said Preeti Bansal, a final year engineering student. IIM Indore had earlier announced that the results would be declared in the third week of December, but it could not meet the target reportedly due to several changes  in the exam pattern this year.

‘’Every year, the results would be declared in the first or second week of January. But, this time, the CAT authorities have planned to release the results much ahead of the regular schedule to finish the admission process at the earliest,” said an senior management professor from Hyderabad.

CAT is the entrance test to secure admissions into one of the most prestigious management institutes such as IIMs and many other top business schools in the country.

Out of the total 1.96 registered applicants this year, around 1.90 lakh aspirants appeared for the test which was held from Nov 16-22.
