VISAKHAPATNAM:The District Sports Authority will conduct district-level selections for admission into the Dr.YSR Sports School, Kadapa. The selections are being conducted for admission into the fourth class for the academic year 2015-16. The selections will be held at Police Barracks, Suryabagh, on July 22. The state level selections will be conducted at Dr.YSR Sports School, Kadapa, YSR District.
According to District Sports Officer N Surya Rao, there are 40 vacancies in the school- 20 for girls and 20 for boys. The sports disciplines in the school are Archery, Athletics, Boxing, Football, Gymnastics, Swimming, Taekwondo, Weightlifting and Hockey. The child should be eight years of age and have born between February 28, 2007 to March 1, 2008. The parents should bring age and study certificate from the school where the candidate has been studying, birth registration certificate, 10 latest passport size photographs and copies of progress reports of last year.
The selection process will start at 8 am and concluded at 4 pm. The candidates will be shortlisted for the state-level selections on the basis of points scored.
During the selections height, weight, standing broad jump, one kg medicine ball put, 800-mtr run, standing vertical jump, 30-mtr flying start, 6x10 mtr shuttle run, flexibility test (forward bend and reach) and medical tests will be done. Details can be obtained at 0891-2705392.
