ROURKELA:  At 10, Tejaswini Behera is already a celebrity. Her dancing prowess has won her many accolades at several popular television shows. The latest being the crown at Nachle Ve, a duet dance show where she was paired with Bihar's Swati Nitya.

Earlier, she had won the runnersup trophy at another popular dance show besides leaving a mark at another event on a popular channel.

The school celebrated her success by giving her a rousing reception on the Children's Day on Sunday. A fourth grader at the Carmel School here, Tejaswini was first spotted by her teacher about four years back. It was then that her father Upendra Behera, a senior technician at Rourkela Steel Plant, decided to send her for dance classes where she could hone her skills. In no time the child prodigy enriched her dancing repertoire with western, modern, semiclassical and classical dance forms.

Dance has never been a distraction for the academically bright child. However, it is a successful choreographer that she aspires to be and her parents are only too happy to let their daughter live her dreams.
