PRK music label opens with Anjaniputra’s audio on Nov 24

A Sharadhaa

Anjaniputra will be special to Puneeth Rajkumar because this will be the first film of which he has acquired the music rights, under the label PRKaudio.

The actor will now venture also into the music industry, through his newly opened production house Parvathamma Rajkumar Films. An official announcement will be made at the grand audio launch of the film, which has been planned for November 24.

While preparations are on to make this a memorable event, another point of interest would be the album’s logo. The label has picked one of Dr Rajkumar, as a singer. The legend, who has acted in over 200 films,  was also a noted singer in the Kannada industry. In fact, following his father’s footsteps, Puneeth Rajkumar has been a child artist and a singer from a young age. He has always wanted to work with music and the new label should help with that.

The company has also bought the music rights of Tagaru, which will be its second such film. Filmmakers, we hear, are eagerly waiting to work with the PRK label. I was happy to create music for Appu’s film:

Music director Ravi Basrur

Ravi Basrur still remembers the date April 26, 2002, when he first watched Puneeth’s first film, Appu - first day first show. He says, “That’s  when I became his fan. Now being able to direct music for his movie has me excited. I have gone out of my way to give the best for this album.” Also, going by the director Harsha’s aesthetics, all five songs will have to stand apart.

There is Puneeth’s introductory track sung by the actor himself, then there is one track from the the coastal belt, which uses the dialects from Mysuru, Mangaluru, Hubli and Dhaward and will be a melody focusing on Rashmika Mandanna. There is also a duet number, the title track. The film film produced by MN Kumar has cinematography by J Swamy.
