VIJAYAWADA:A team of representatives from Germany-based KfW Development Bank on Thursday inspected the functioning of LED lights and solar rooftop panels set up by the Vijayawada Municipal Corporation (VMC) across the city. After the inspection, the representatives expressed satisfaction over the VMC projects. They also assured municipal commissioner G Veerapandian that KfW would extend financial assistance to the ongoing development projects of the civic body.

Later, Veerapandian explained the major infrastructure projects being implemented by the VMC in the city.  The solar rooftop and LED lights projects in the corporation-owned buildings reportedly evoked a good response from the representatives.
“The KfW has asked the VMC to prepare a detailed project report so that it can fund the ongoing work to replace the fluorescent bulbs in all the corporation-owned buildings with LED lights,” Veerapandian said.
VMC executive engineer A Uday Kumar and other officials were present.
