VISAKHAPATNAM: A couple of days after expressing doubts over the death of his daughter, former Payakraopeta MLA Kakara Nookaraju filed a case against DSP (Vigilance-RTC) Dasari Ravi Babu at Gajuwaka police station on Monday. This is the second murder charge against the DSP.

According to Gajuwaka police, the former MLA alleged that his daughter Padmalatha was killed by Gedela Raju on the instructions of Ravi Babu. The police say that after the complaint was filed by Nookaraju, the DSP who is in judicial remand faces the double murder charge.
Meanwhile, sources said that the police were investigating from certain angles like the involvement of others in the murder case of Padmalatha besides the police officer.
As per the investigation, seven persons had met in a guest house on the Beach Road on August 13.

The police are on the job of gathering evidence of Padmalatha’s murder.
Ravi Babu while working as Inspector of Police at Yellamanchili from 2000 to 2003, developed an extra-marital affair with Padmalatha and reportedly promised to marry her. But he gradually started avoiding her.Padmalatha started to pressurise the police officer to marry her and even given a representation to the then police commissioner Amit Garg in March 2016. However, she died in suspicious circumstances in September 2016.

The recent murder case of Gedela Raju brought to light that the rowdy-sheeter was murdered by Bhupathiraju Srinivasa Raju, who hired persons on the instructions of the police officer as Gedela Raju started blackmailing the police officer over the Padmalatha murder for money.
According to police investigation, Padmalatha was poisoned to death by Gedela Raju under mysterious circumstances and it was stated as a heart attack.
