BENGALURU: Alleging that the state government has not yet handed over the case of suspicious death of Paresh Mesta in Uttara Kannada district to any central agency, Union Minister Ananth Kumar has demanded a probe by National Investigation Agency into the case.

“The state has played a drama by saying that they have handed over Paresh Mesta case to the CBI. No notification has been issued in this regard. Therefore, I urge Union Minister Rajnath Singh to ensure that NIA probes the murder,” he said. The mysterious death of Mesta had recently led to communal disturbances in several parts of Uttara Kannada district, forcing the police to clamp prohibitory orders.  Ananth Kumar also said BJP will win 25 of the 28 Assembly seats in Bengaluru, while exceeding over 150 out of the 225 seats in the state.
