CHENNAI: Accel Transmatic Limited, Thiruvananthapuram headquartered media services company, has said that its animation division, Accel Animation Studios, is expanding its operations by setting up additional facilities for 200 animators at the Kinfra Animation SEZ Complex, Thiruvananthapuram. This is part of its initiative to undertake all 2D and 3D animation content development work at its facility in Thiruvananthapuram and all visual effects jobs in its studio in Chennai.
N R Panicker, Chairman, AccelTransmatic said, “The expansion plans re-iterates our intentions of playing a leadership role in developing the Kerala eco-system for media and animation.’’ Recently the company had decided to merge Ushus Technologies, the software division, with Accel Frontline. The money raised through the sale of software division would be ploughed to expand its Media & Animation development operations in Kinfra Film & Video Park. AccelTransmatic has also started drawing blueprints for setting up a state-of-the-art studio as well as a R&D centre for media & animation on its campus in the Kinfra Film & Video Park. The facilities are likely to come up in the next 18 months.
