CHENNAI: The All India Bank Employees Association (AIBEA) confirmed that a scheduled strike on Monday strike will be carried out by IDBI Bank employees only, said a top union leader.
"There seems to be some confusion in the minds of people. We are clarifying that the strike will be only by employees of IDBI Bank and bynot other bank employees," C.H.Venkatachalam, general secretary told IANS on Sunday.
He said the strike call by the United Forum of IDBI Officers and Employees comprising All India IDBI Employees Association and All India IDBI Officers Association) is against the central government's proposal to reduce its holding in IDBI Bank to less than 50 percent.
Referring to the four day strike call given by United Platform of IDBI Bank Unions from March 28-31 he said the forum claims to consist of a section of IDBI Bank officers and a minority union of employees not affiliated to AIBEA.
