Doritos, introduced in the 1960s by Frito-Lay, a wholly-owned subsidiary of PepsiCo, has been manufactured in the US. The company will now manufacture the product at Kolkata. After Lay’s and Kurkure, Doritos is the third masterbrand product in PepsiCo’s snack portfolio to be introduced in India, it said.

Niteen Pradhan, V-P (operations) at PepsiCo India, termed this initiative as the firm’s commitment to Make in India. “Our goal has been to develop local ecosystems and produce locally to address the consumption needs of India.”
