KOCHI: Agappe Diagnostics has tied up with Hitachi Chemical Company to manufacture advanced fully automatic specific protein and clinical chemistry analysers in India. Agappe Diagnostics’ managing director Thomas John said the manufacturing of the equipment would commence at the firm’s facility in Kerala and the product will be launched in a year.

Agappe Diagnostics is a manufacturing company of in vitro diagnostics reagent in India with a turnover of Rs 125 crore as on March 31, 2017. The company targets a turnover of Rs 500 crore in five years. It has an employee strength of around 600.

“This project will also create better employment opportunities as well as breakthrough in research and development under the ‘Make in India’ initiative. Affordable pricing would help rural penetration with smaller and medium labs entering the platform of advanced testing,” said Thomas.

The new instrument enables early detection of kidney malfunctioning, cardiac problems, osteoporosis and detection of Prostate cancer through PSA testing among others.
“This association will enable us to deliver the best-in-class diagnostic solutions to the common man at affordable price,” said Tsuyoshi Uchida, deputy general manager, medical business unit, Hitachi Chemical.
