BANGALORE: Starting from October 26, Bangalore Medical College and Research Institute (BMCRI) will be starting Kannada classes for the benefit of its non-Kannadiga students.

“About 15 per cent of our students are from other states, who have been admitted through the CET. It is difficult for them to understand lectures given in Kannada. Keeping in mind the interests of students coming from other states, we have started Kannada classes,” said Dr G T Subhash, dean and director of BMCRI.

The classes will be held for a period of three months in three batches. As many as 32 students will be taken in each batch.

The first batch starts from October 26 at the BMCRI premises.

“The course will be conducted in co-ordination with the department of Kannada and Culture,” he added.
