BANGALORE: A new technology of ensuring a digital data of cyber cafe users was launched on Thursday in Bangalore, keeping in view the increasing cases of cyber crimes.

Bangalore City Police and Ideacts Innovations held an interactive session on Cyber Café Security and Management in the city.

Alok Kumar, Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime), along with police officers from the East division, took part in the event.

Alok Kumar said, “With cyber cafes making up 47 pc of access point for Internet usage in India, they have emerged as hot spots for cyber crimes. Until now, most cyber cafes maintained café user information in registers which is not only inefficient information management but also difficult to retrieve when required.” On the product CLINK Cyber Cafe Manager, the CEO of Ideacts, Rudrajit Desai said, “It is a onetime registration by the cafe users.

Once registered, they can use the id in any part of India without registering again. The data would be saved forever with the organisation and can be retrieved by the cafe owners in case of loss of the data in their server. ” Registering the details with the cyber cafe before usage has been made compulsory under the IT Act, which is mostly violated by cafe owners.
