BANGALORE: In response to the call of Karnataka High Court, Rahul Patil, nephew of President Pratibha Patil, on Friday came forward to settle matrimonial disputes with his wife Prachi Singh Patil.

Justice B Sreenivase Gowda advised the couple to settle the dispute amicably.

Rahul Patil agreed for the same. Prachi is yet to make up her mind to settle the dispute amicably.

At the mediation centre, the judge had called both the parties to settle the dispute amicably. Both the parties presented their arguments before the Adalat.

“We have given our opinion regarding the dispute. The judge has also given his suggestion to us, mediation process is in the right direction,” said Rahul’s advocate.

The High Court had directed the couple to present themselves before the court to settle the dispute. So, they were present before the judge and put forward their arguments.

Before going to mediation centre, Prachi had refused to accept the settlement.

“I have suffered a lot, my husband and in-laws ill-treated me and I want justice,” Prachi told reporters.

“The President Pratibha Patil had fixed our marriage. In her presence we got married. But now, she is not responding though I approached her many times,” Prachi said.

However, Rahul said, “I am ready for mediation and want to settle the dispute.

I came for that only.”
