BANGALORE: City-based advocate Sheela Anish has been elected as the world president of the International Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA) at the 34th annual conference held at Lagos, Nigeria recently.

A leading advocate practising at the  High Court and  Supreme Court, Sheela is the founder-president of the All India Federation of Women Lawyers. She is the second Indian women to be elected as the world president .

Speaking to Express, Sheela said that International Federation of Women Lawyers has a consultative status with UNO with which the federation works world-wide for framing laws in the interest of women.
